Yes Australia, Google and UWA in Online Marketing Challenge 2010
In 2010, the Google Online Marketing Challenge (GOMC) had more than 3,000 students participating from 70 countries around the world, all taking part in the global marketing competition. During the first semester, YES Australia Education had the opportunity to participate with one team of students from The University of Western Australia, in Perth (Australia), and provide these students with real life experience.
The UWA group was formed with a great mix of nationalities: Emily from China, Sarvin from Iran, Marie and Luke from Australia, Chris from the UK, and Glen from Singapore, all of them undertaking the Electronic Marketing and Information Management unit for their Master’s degree at UWA. These students were led by Google Global Academic Lead, UWA’s Professor Jamie Murphy.
In essence, students work using Google AdWords with real businesses creating and researching for effective online marketing campaigns. They will draw a plan, run an online campaign, assess their results and provide recommendations. They will then submit their reports and will be judged by a panel of independent academics from all over the world.
At YES Australia we are happy to have provided students with a great opportunity to meet a real business, evaluate and assess data and learn and improve practical skills. Congratulations!
