YES Australia Student is Crowned World CFC Champion in Australia

Three World Title fights took place last 12th March 2010, in Sydney (Australia), for the 2010 Cage Fighting Championship 12 (CFC). One of the main events of the night included a YES Australia Education student, the Brazilian Gustavo Falciroli.

The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert, Gustavo Falciroli, has been training in Perth at Mach 1 Fitness MMA for a few years, and was newly crowned CFC Bantamweight World Champion over Sydney’s Richie Vas on that night. Falciroli has proven to be a high level opponent with a polished ground game and fine cage ability.

More experienced on the CFC than his opponent, Gustavo Falciroli was already seen as the winner by many spectators even before the fight started, but Vas entered the round unbeaten, with 4 wins on previous CFCs. “It doesn’t matter how many fights you’ve had because when someone’s unbeaten like he was, they’re confident and dangerous.” said Falciroli.

“I never underestimate any opponent, they receive my full respect because all it takes is a big punch on your head and you’re gone,” said the winner and former YES Australia’ Student. Gustavo had won the title after the 5th round by the judges’ decision.
